Collective nouns singular, when speaking with the group as a whole. Take a plural verb when talking about individuals in the group.

The class is very mixed.

His family lives in this house.

His family live in different parts of Sydney.

The jury in the courtroom.

The jury is still debating theHomes.

Pants and trousers

Pants means underwear for the upper leg. Tracksuit pants means for the legs, from the waist to the ankles.

Students must wear white pants. (White pants not ...)

Theater, drama and theater
