Some of the posters here clearly are averse to some of Martini's politically-incorrect observations and thus their low ratings. Nevertheless, this novel is not only a compelling 'thriller' (with some less than flattering comments on our 'justice' system) but is also a clear warning about the dangers of the economics and the open-borders agendas of our politicians.
Martini skewers our Congress over "trying to get everybody in the country into houses they couldn't afford. When this set fire to the national economy, crashing markets, destroying whole industries, and generally torching the entire circus, they tripled the national debt in order to smother the flames with money."
He goes on the observe that "in the late nineties, politicians eager to pocket million-dollar speaking fees from foreign trade groups embraced the concept of a global economy. They teamed up with Chinese businessmen and Mexican manufacturers and carved out a zone along the U.S. southern border where trade restrictions were virtually eliminated.
"American politicians sold the country on the concept of our being an information economy, that we no longer needed manufacturing or heavy industry, as if you could drive words and eat sentences. They shipped entire job sectors abroad and then railed at the demise of the middle class."
We have seen our ballooning debt and deficit, 10% (at least) unemployment, thousands of foreclosures, Biden admitting that lost jobs aren't coming back (why would they, with the ever escalating taxes and regulations?), and 60,000 OTM's (other than Mexicans - - those from Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan and Yemen, many of these recognized terrorist states) arrested just last year.
Martini's novel offers a realistic scenario of the implications of the damage that our politicians currently in office are inflicting on America. Those who view this novel as simply 'fiction' are playing ostrich - burying their heads in the sand and leaving their posteriors exposed for some serious kicking. Sure wish that it WERE simply fiction, but this is downright scary and a book that you will not be able to put down for long.
